The Winns Primary School, London

Everyone’s a winner at The Winns Primary School

HAGS have recently completed a project for Key Stage 1 and 2 children for London based school, The Winns. The main objective was to create an active play and social space for the children which the school would be able to use all year round.

The design includes three vibrant zoned areas and a dedicated area for Imagination Playground encouraging communication and collaboration. To soften the outdoor space, it is also completed with artificial grass and soft shock pads to make it more inviting to the children and allow all season use.

Zone One - Two multi-sport courts: Incorporates a Sports England, Primary Arena inspired design completed with eye-catching floor graphics to allow children to create their own games and use their imagination. While the second multi-sport court is designed to cater for more active pupils, equipped with recessed football goals and practice hoops and finished with football markings, encouraging fine and gross motor development.

Zone Two- UniPlay units: Designed to test pupil’s limits, the stimulating zone comprises a UniPlay Jilax, a somersault vault which includes 3 different level bars enabling pupils to test strength, co-ordination and balance. Completed with a bespoke UniPlay Birro, combining three standard units, offering pupils the ultimate climbing experience.

Zone Three- Shade Area: A less active zone with a canopy rest and unique picnic tables with board games, offers pupils’ shelter and encouraging social interaction.
